A Small Pattern Alteration

Written by , Posted in Lace

After brainstorming about different ways to change the regency pattern, I decided to make another lacedress in this new design.  Rather than having two gathers in the front, I darted the bodice and added gathers in the middle.  Also, the ruffles in the neckline had to be omitted because of the alteration.  It was much easier than I thought!

Regency Lace

Written by , Posted in Finished Projects, Lace, Past Projects

After making this dress a couple times for my Etsy shop, it seemed right to do a blog post.  It all started with a simple custom order requesting ruffles in the neckline.  From there, I continued to experiment with different fabrics and colors.  I still have lots of ideas for different designs, just a little different than this one.

One of these days I will have to do a tutorial on how to add the ruffles to the sleeves.  It does take a little extra time but it was all very worth it.  The more time to work also means more time to reflect on God’s Word.

There is one verse I have been pondering since the new year.  After learning so many things in 2014 it has such an new meaning to me.

…yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

Galatians 2:16

Have a splendid week!
